A variety of surgical procedures are performed every day. These include fixation and stabilization of fractures; correction of acquired or congenital orthopedic deformities; spinal surgeries; maxillo-facial surgeries; plastic surgeries; debridement and sequestrectomy; abscess drainages; closed or open reductions of fractures and dislocations are the least to mention. The hospital is also a pioneer and a front runner in the history of total and partial hip joint replacements and arthroscopic surgeries. And now it is starting to perform a total knee joint replacement, a procedure that is not yet done in Ethiopia. In addition to all above selected cases of general surgical problems and associated traumas that need the attentions of general surgeons are dealt with accordingly.
