With the help of the US based Aid Organization – Laura’s World Fund and the local Community, Yordanos Hospital has been instrumental in the construction of three lab buildings for the oldest school in West Gojjam – Ras Bitwoded Mengesha Atikem School.

Yordanos Hospital again with the help of Laura’s World Fund and the aid organization – Books for Africa has secured 22000 books, Computers, Printers and Copiers for the school.

As a continuation of the aid effort construction of a library will commence in a few weeks.

Yordanos Hospital is still proud to announce that it has involved Laura’s World Fund in the feeding program of 80 poor students of the RBMAS which has been paying 12000 USD per year. This program is now in its third year. This year four of its students have gone to different universities in the country.

It is also worthwhile to mention that Dr. Ralph R. Wolf and Mrs Barbara Wolf; teachers and friends of Dr. Worku Mekonnen are funding the construction of labs and library in a capacity of 30000 USD per year.

Yordanos hospital wants to extend its appreciation to all stakeholders in the rehabilitation effort of our oldest school.

An NGO named as Progress for Education and Health Development Initiative has been established recently that is exclusively be working for the welfare of our school community.
