Our trauma and orthopedic service was the first service of its kind when we started working in a small clinic in June 1998. At the time there were many difficulties in delivering trauma and orthopedic care due to shortage of equipment and funds.

Despite the tremendous challenges in this service our activity became known in the whole country and beyond in the years to come.

Finally Yordanos hospital was opened in 2007, the goal of which is to augment the existing health service in order to achieve a positive change in the overall health status in general and to create a strong and well organized specialized orthopedic trauma and emergency services in particular, which could cover not only country of Ethiopia, but also the whole region of east Africa.
